Sven Hadley and Bellscross Cruisedown finish fourth in Puissance class at Jumping In the City at Shelbourne

Galway showjumper Sven Hadley has his sights firmly on retaining his title at the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse show having qualified in the young rider division at Ennis County Clare two weeks ago.

This year, riding Quanbell, Hadley booked his place to the five star event when finishing second in the hard fought qualifier .Last year at Dublin Horse Show, Hadley delivered a show stopping performance in the Gallagher/Meller E2 Show Jumper sponsored Young Rider 1.35m-1.40cm Championship with Cassana to retain his title for the second year in a row. On this occasion he not alone retained his title, but his performance during the course of the show saw him crowned leading young rider of the Dublin Horse Show. Speaking after qualification, Hadley said: “ Its great to have qualified at the halfway point as it allows me to concentrate on the national Grand Prix’s ahead of the RDS. It was a very competitive qualifier, but its what you come to expect from Ireland’s young riders. Quanbell has been competing on the international circuit so he has a lot of experience under this type of pressure. I hope to qualify another horse to increase my chances of retaining my title for the third year. To win at the RDS is a huge achievement for any rider, but to take the title twice, just makes you want it more”. Hadley is without a doubt on top form of late and has the results to show for it. Last week at Ravensdale Lodge in Dundalk he led the victory lap in the third round of the Pegus Leinster Summer Tour aboard Carla. Hadley then went on to finish in third place in the National Grand Prix with Quanbell. Despite a foot perfect performance he crossed the line mere seconds behind the former World Champion, Dermott Lennon

.

Another great day at Ravensdale. Carla won the Leinster Summer Tour Grand Prix and Quanbell finished fourth. Cassana won the 1.20cm and Lady Oh La Laa was 3rd in her first show since her break. Looking forward to the Grand Prix tomorrow
